A Completely Rational Fear Of Failure

• Leaving your comfort zone and facing new challenges will sometimes guarantee failure. However, it is important to remember that every failure is an opportunity for us to learn and grow. Therefore, define failure as a discrepancy to help reframe your mindset. Start by looking at it as a discrepancy between your expectations and reality. Determine if the threat is real or imagined by evaluating your body’s physical response.

• Additionally, create promotion goals rather than prevention goals to stay focused on what’s important. This development of a goal-oriented growth mindset toward learning not only prepares you for success in your chosen profession, but it also promotes healthy personal development. Expect a good outcome but do not become attached to it, so you can enjoy the journey. Have faith in the outcome, but don’t put your entire happiness on the line.
